Meet the Oxen

The oxen of The Stampede were truly a sight to behold, and we hope you found the beauty and the whimsy of these creatures as inspiring as we did. We are thrilled that so many of these oxen have stayed in the Hopewell Valley. The oxen were decorated by local and regional artists, professional and amateur. Each artist and ox has a story and we hope you take the time to read about them by clicking on the images below. The Stampede would not have come to fruition without the support of our sponsors, whose businesses and reasons for supporting the arts in Hopewell Valley are also profiled on these pages.

Thank you for your interest in The Stampede and the Hopewell Valley Arts Council, which seeks to heighten your experiences of art in the everyday.
