About the Artist

Born in England and raised in France, Pennington artist Cecile Vidican moved to this country to earn her graduate degree from Rutgers University. After teaching at Rutgers Prep and Princeton Day School, she is currently an Adjunct Professor of French at The College of New Jersey.
The artist is a self-taught, freelance illustrator who plays around with a lot of styles and techniques, from watercolor and color pencil to pen and ink. On occasion, she even adds a pinch of digital wizardry. Her work is inspired by nature, aquatic creatures, architecture, and even monsters! Vidican’s favorite illustrators are Quentin Blake and Hergé.
