“Ox Tops” was awarded Most Creative Use of Materials by our panel of Stampede Judges.  Congratulations!

Dressed in an outfit of shiny medallions and swirls, Ox Tops represents an exercise in recycling and reuse. He is decorated with plastic bottle and container tops and lids.

The tops were collected over several years, and some were used for fun in an abstract wall hanging. More tops were contributed by friends who were intrigued by the project.  Because most of the elements are round, the design evolved in circles and curves.  The use of  different sizes of tops and lids adds variety, and the vibrant colors are ready-made.  Once started (with the help of epoxy clay), the design tended to make itself.

Ox Tops could be a lively addition to a carousel!
